The Imtiaz Ali film was certainly meant for a niche audience, hence it fetched moolah at the multiplexes but not much at the single screens. Performing mainly in the urban centers such as Mumbai, Pune, the film has been stayed low in the mass circuits.

Tamasha‘s week day drops show that the film will make a collection of 50 crores in the first week and is expected to struggle in the second week with a screen crunch as Hate Story 3 releases. Considering erotic thrillers do fetch a decent amount of moolah, Tamasha may suffer over the second weekend.
