Shaitaan continues to go great guns, and though it’s one of the most controlled-budgeted films of Ajay Devgn ever since one can remember, it has still managed to zoom right up in his Top-10 list. If the opening day collections were wonderful enough, the momentum that has been gained on Saturday as well as Sunday has ensured that the film finds a solid footing amongst the Top-10 biggest weekend/first three day openers of Ajay Devgn.
This is how the list looks like:
Trending
- Golmaal Again – 87.60 crores
- Singham Returns – 78 crores
- Drishyam 2 – 64.14 crores
- Total Dhamaal – 62.40 crores
- Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior – 61.93 crores
- Shaitaan – 55.13 crores
- Baadshaho – 43.30 crores
- Bol Bachchan – 43.10 crores
- Raid – 41.01 crores
- Son of Sardaar – 39.15 crores
As can be seen, the film finds itself at the No. 6 slot, and that’s pretty impressive, too, because the ones above it are either sequels or hugely mounted. Golmaal Again, Singham Returns, Drishyam 2 and Total Dhamaal are all sequels, and the first two in the list also arrived on Diwali and Independence Day, respectively.
On the other hand Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior is one of the most expensive films of Ajay Devgn. Shaitaan still being just a few crores below, is a testimony to the fact that the content has really worked wonders for his latest release.
The film has, in the process, gone way above his other biggest openers like Baadshaho, Bol Bachchan, Raid and Son of Sardaar, and the distance is between 10-15 crores. The momentum is expected to continue right till the close of Week One as well, and it would be interesting to see where does Shaitaan land up eventually.
