Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna’s latest film, Ranabaali, is all set to hit the big screens on October 16. The film is being released a day after Rajinikanth’s much-anticipated film Jailer 2. The Telugu film’s advance collections have surely been affected by the Rajinikanth-starrer. Advance bookings for Ranabaali in India opened only on Wednesday, two days ahead of its release.
Ranabaali India Advance Booking
According to trade trackers, Ranabaali earned only 2 crore on the first day of advance bookings. The film has over 1,600 shows, and more than 145,000 tickets were sold on Day 1. This is a poor start for Vijay Deverakonda’s film. With just one day remaining, the film has some heavy lifting to do to improve its Day 1 collections. However, a lot will also depend on the reviews of Jailer 2. If the film performs well, many audience members may opt to watch the Rajinikanth-starrer on its second day.

More shows will be added today, likely boosting collections for the Rahul Sankrityan directorial. However, despite that, the film may struggle to enter the top three opening-day collections of Vijay’s career. The highest opening-day collection for Vijay came from his previous film, Kingdom. While the film’s overall performance was unimpressive, it opened with 17 crore net in India. At its current pace, Ranabaali is unlikely to enter the top three openers of Vijay Deverakonda’s career.

More About Ranabaali
Director Rahul Sankrityan describes his film as an alternate-history film, which means it takes a part of history and reimagines how it could have played out. The upcoming film is set against the backdrop of the 19th-century famine in southern India under British rule. Vijay plays a fictional character who is also the savior of his people.
Vijay Deverakonda expects this film to mark his grand comeback. The actor has not had a great run at the box office post-pandemic. The film also marks his on-screen reunion with Rashmika Mandanna after Dear Comrade in 2019.
