Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna’s recent film, Ranabaali, has had a disappointing start at the box office. The film, which Vijay hailed as his grand comeback, did not make it into the top 3 in his career’s opening-day collections. Adding to the disappointment, the film did not pick up pace on Day 2 and saw a dip in collections.
How Much Did Ranabaali Earn At The Box Office In 2 Days?
The Telugu period drama, directed by Rahul Sankrityan, is struggling at the box office. With mixed reviews and a clash with Jailer 2, the film has seen a drop in collections. On Day 1, the film earned 9.25 crore in India. However, the collection dropped to 7.3 crore on Day 2, marking a 21% dip. The occupancy rate also dropped from 57% to 53%. The film’s net total after 2 days stands at 16.55 crore, which translates to a gross collection of 19.53 crore.

Less Than Kingdom’s Opening Day
The 2-day total of Vijay and Rashmika’s film is lower than the lead actor’s previous film, Kingdom’s opening-day collection. Vijay’s last film, Kingdom (2025), had a strong opening of 17 crore in India. However, the film flopped at the box office and could not sustain its initial run. With Ranabaali, the 2-day collection also falls short of Vijay’s biggest opening.
More About Ranabaali
Director Rahul Sankrityan describes his film as an alternate-history film, which means it takes a part of history and reimagines how it could have played out. The film is set against the backdrop of the 19th-century famine in southern India under British rule. Vijay plays a fictional character who is also the savior of his people.
Vijay Deverakonda expects this film to mark his grand comeback. The actor has not had a great run at the box office post-pandemic. The film also marks his on-screen reunion with Rashmika Mandanna after Dear Comrade in 2019.
