Despite mixed reviews from critics, the film has been registering an impressive number at the domestic box office. As a sequel to the well-received film Meesaya Murukku, there was genuine hype among moviegoers. On its opening day, the film opened at 3.3 crore net in India. The film earned over 6 crore on Sunday. On its first Monday, the film earned 2.65 crore, bringing its net total to 17 crore, which equals 20.06 crore gross. Overseas, the film has collected 4.75 crore so far, bringing the worldwide total to 24.81 crore.

Meanwhile, Meesaya Murukku 2 witnessed a 19.7% drop on its first Monday compared to its opening day. This means that the film has passed the Monday test with flying colors. A film needs to register less than 40% degrowth on its first Monday compared to its opening day to pass its Monday test.
