Even though Shahid Kapoor hasn’t achieved much at the Box Office, he is one of the most popular stars at this moment. Shasha, as his fans love to call him enjoys a good following on social media as well as the real world.
The star is all set to treat his fans with his upcoming film Kabir Singh. The much-awaited film has built a good hype for itself thanks to interesting promos and hit music and now all eyes are on how it trends at the Box Office.
The film started well as far as the advance booking is concerned and is promising a good start. Meanwhile, here are 5 Box Office benchmarks which Kabir Singh will be expected to cross.
1. Shaandaar Opening
Shahid Kapoor’s Shaandaar (2016) was one of the biggest duds of his career but the film also gave him his highest opening ever. Kabir Singh needs to chase that target of 13.5 crores and emerge Shasha’s highest opening ever.
2. Udta Punjab’s First Weekend
Shahid Kapoor’s Udta Punjab earned 33.80 crores in its opening weekend which is highest so far. After surpassing the opening day record of Shaandaar, Shahid’s Kabir Singh will be expected to show at least normal jumps and have a weekend in 37-42 crores range.
3. Udta Punjab’s First Week
Again, Kabir Singh will be expected to surpass the first week business of Udta Punjab and highest ever of Shahid. Udta Punjab earned 48.5 crores net in 1st week and crossing it won’t be a big task for Kabir Singh unless the content turns out to be disappointing.
4. R…Rajkumar’s Lifetime Business
Shahid Kapoor’s 2013 romantic action film R… Rajkumar stands as his highest grosser of All Time with a business of 64 crores. Yet another easy but important target for Shahid to achieve which he hasn’t since last 6 years.
5. 100 crore club
Unfortunately, Shahid Kapoor is the only popular Bollywood star right now who has no film in 100 crores grosser till now. With Kabir Singh, he will be expected to finally make an entry in the club.
What do you think? Will Kabir Singh finally prove to be a film which Shahid is looking for a long time?
P.S. We haven’t included Padmaavat in the list considering it was not his solo film.
