Jailer 2, starring Rajinikanth in the lead role, is now letting the numbers do all the talking at the Indian box office. The day before yesterday, advance booking started for extremely limited shows, but now more shows are being added with each passing hour. As a result, big numbers have started to come through day 1 advance bookings. Already, the film is all set to reach 2 lakh tickets in advance sales, hinting at an urgency among moviegoers. Full-fledged bookings are yet to open
In yesterday’s afternoon report, we reported that only 380 shows were listed for bookings. Today, as we write, 1,638 shows have been listed. However, even this number is nowhere near the final total. Given the sequel factor, the film will secure well above 10,000 shows across India. As of now, bookings are open only in Tamil Nadu, with a considerable show count of 1,620. In Karnataka, only around 10 shows are listed.
Jailer 2 displays a jump of 453% in day 1 advance bookings in 21 hours!
Coming to the advance booking update of day 1, Jailer 2 has sold 1.89 lakh tickets (excluding blocked seats). In terms of collections, it has grossed 3.54 crore through opening-day pre-sales, as of 9:30 am IST. Compared to yesterday’s update as of 12:30 pm IST, the film had grossed 64.05 lakh. So, if a comparison is made, it displayed a massive jump of 453.12% in 21 hours.

Currently, pre-sales are predominantly open only in Tamil Nadu, with 3.29 crore gross. Once Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Kerala join the party, the real rampage mode will be activated. Considering the high stakes involved, the film’s target is to reach 30 crore in final day 1 pre-sales, a target likely to be met.

Jailer 2 is produced by Kalanithi Maran’s Sun Pictures. It also stars SJ Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Ramya Krishnan, and Vidya Balan in key roles. It is scheduled to release in theaters on October 15, 2026. It was reportedly made on a budget of 350 crore.
