Dulquer Salmaan’s much-anticipated film I’m Game had a decent start at the box office. The Malayalam fantasy thriller received mixed reviews from audiences, resulting in a dip in day 2 collections. The actor’s homecoming was expected to open on a much higher note, but sadly did not meet the expectations. Currently, the film is following the ace of Dulquer’s last Malayalam release, King of Kotha (2023).

How Much Did I’m Game Earn In 2 Days At The Box Office?

Dulquer Salmaan’s latest film witnessed an opening of 5.4 crore net in India on Thursday. The makers released the film on the occasion of Janmashtami, which was a holiday in some parts of the country. It marks Dulquer’s fourth biggest opening post-COVID behind Lucky Baskhar, King Of Kotha, and Kurup. On day 2, the film’s collection dipped to 4.6 crore. This was a 14% dip in collections on its opening day. While it is not a big percentage, it is a big deal for an actor of Dulquer Salmaan’s stature and stardom. The film saw a dip in collections despite a 400-500 increase in shows.

The net total for I’m Game after 2 days is 10 crore, which equals 11.8 crore gross in India. Overseas, the film collected 4 crore on Day 2, taking its total overseas gross to 8.5 crore so far. This pushes the worldwide gross collection to 20.3 crore.

  • Day 2: 4.6 crore

Total: 10 crore

Is I’m Game Following King Of Kotha’s path at the Box Office?

The failure of King of Kotha came as a shock to Dulquer Salmaan. Back in 2023, the film had huge anticipation as an Onam release. King Of Kotha registered the biggest opening of the year in Kerala, collecting a total of 6.85 crore net in India. However, negative reviews led to a massive 62% drop on day 2. As a result, the film collected just 2.6 crore on day 2, taking its 2-day total to 9.55 crore. Interestingly, I’m Game is currently following a similar trend. Moreover, with Nivin Pauly’s Bethlehem Kudumba Unit running successfully in theaters, I’m Game needed strong word-of-mouth to perform well at the box office. Now, it remains to be seen whether the film can get a boost over the weekend as exhibitors add more showings.

More About I’m Game

Nahas Hidhayath has directed the upcoming film. The director is known for the film RDX, which surprised everyone at the box office with its stylized filmmaking and gripping narrative. The film earned a worldwide gross of 84 crore, proving to be a massive hit. Dulquer Salmaan has been very convincing in headlining stylized mass actioners, and it will be interesting to see how the film performs. I’m Game also marks Dulquer’s 40th film and pairs him with Kayadu Lohar for the first time.
