Hero, the official remake of Subhash Ghai’s 1983 blockbuster Jackie Shroff starrer ‘Hero‘ has done a business of 21.20 crores nett in its opening weekend at the Box Office. The film, that marks the debut of star kids Sooraj Pancholi & Athiya Shetty, opened decently, but the collections remained in the same range throughout the weekend, which should have shown growth on Saturday and Sunday.
‘Hero‘, which is produced by Salman Khan & Subhash Ghai has done decent business considering the new faces in the film, but not up to the mark according to the distributors as the buzz around the film & the promotion was quite high.
Imran Khan and Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Katti Batti‘ is releasing this Friday, which too is one of the most awaited rom-coms of this year. The movie will definitely affect the business of ‘Hero‘, as it targets the same audience.
Here’s what distributors are saying about the weekend business of ‘Hero‘ :
Ajay Pal from Bangalore
The business of ‘Hero‘ is not up to the mark. The collections from Friday to Saturday and Sunday is not huge. The film review is average. On the other hand ‘Welcome Back‘ has done good business in its 2nd Weekend.
Sanjay Ghai from Delhi-UP Circuit
The business of ‘Hero‘ in its first weekend is not bad but not great as well. ‘Welcome Back‘ has continued its good run in 2nd weekend also.
A distributor from Mumbai
‘Hero‘ has done a decent average business in its 1st weekend but more was expected from this film. It had a strong competition with ‘Welcome Back‘, which is still doing good business at the box office.
