Will It Become The Most Profitable Film Of Indian Cinema?

Mounted on a tiny production budget of just 1.80 crore, Hanuman Ansh has collected a monumental net collection of 222.88 crore in India. Yielding an unbelievable 221.08 crore in pure net profit above its production cost, the film boasts a staggering 12,282.2% Return on Investment. However, it is still the second most profitable devotional film of Indian Cinema!

The current record holder for the highest profit for a devotional film in Indian cinema is the Gujarati devotional film Laalo: Krishna Sada Sahaayate. Mounted on a budget of 50 lakh, it collected a net earning of 96.44 crore in its lifetime, with a profit of 19,188%. To catch up with Laalo’s benchmark, Hanuman Ansh needs its total domestic net collection to reach 347.184 crore. This means that it still needs 124.30 crore more to become the most profitable devotional film in the entire history of Indian cinema!

With theatrical demand holding exceptionally well in its sixth week, Vishal Chaturvedi‘s film continues to push boundaries. Whether it breaches the 347 crore net mark or not, its journey from a 1.8 crore budget to over 220 crore net is a feat that will be analyzed in film history for decades!
