Despite all the negative reviews that came the way of Hamari Adhuri Kahani, the film has managed to demonstrate decent hold at the box office, especially on the weekdays. There was patronage from the crowds in the interiors that ensures that between Monday and Thursday, the film collected over 10 crore, hence bringing the film in the safe zone.

As a result, the first week’s billing of the Mohit Suri directed film is over 27 crore, which is better than what it had seemed till Saturday, before a reasonable jump on Sunday brought back smiles on the face of those involved with the film.

Of course a lot more was expected from the film due to the credentials involved. Ideally, a film like Hamari Adhuri Kahani should have looked at a lifetime total of over 50 crore at least. However, with the film primarily finding audience in the single screens, it would now reach till the 35 crore.

Since the film’s satellite and music rights have been sold for an impressive 22.5 crore, the theatrical collections are decent enough to help the film sail through as the cost of production (including P&A) is controlled at 35 crore.
