Timothee Chalamet’s Dune 2 continues to enjoy its glorious run at the North American box office. Of course, the pace has definitely gone down a bit, but the collection is maintaining a steady momentum. As a result, the biggie has unleashed one more important milestone by beating films like Captain Marvel, 300 and others. Keep reading to know more!

Directed by Denis Villeneuve, the Dune sequel was released amid massive pre-release hype and expectations on 1st March. Surprisingly, the film went on to open beyond already huge predicted numbers at the worldwide box office. In the domestic market, it is going strong, and it has already emerged as the highest-grossing film of Timothee Chalamet’s career.

Coming to the latest milestone, Dune 2 displayed strong legs at the North American box office and amassed $1.8 million on its 4th Monday. With this, the film scored the 5th highest 4th Monday of all time in the month of March in the domestic market. In the list of top 10 scorers of 4th Monday, the Timothee Chalamet starrer stayed ahead of Captain Marvel ($1.7 million), The Batman ($1.7 million), The Hunger Games ($1.4 million), How To Train Your Dragon ($1.2 million) and 300 ($1.1 million).

Speaking about the current domestic total, Dune 2 stands at $235.2 million and will soon cross the mark of $250 million. Globally, the collection stands at $577 million, and soon, the mark of $600 million will be crossed. Before ending the run, the sequel will become Timothee Chalamet’s highest-grossing film ever by surpassing Wonka’s $632.20 million.

Meanwhile, following the super success of Wonka and Dune 2, Timothee Chalamet has signed a multi-year deal with Warner Bros. The statement of Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy (co-chairpersons and CEOs of Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group) reads, “Over the last few years, we have admired not only Timothée’s commitment to his craft, which is evident in the range and depth of his varied roles but also his unwavering dedication to give 100 percent of his time and attention to every project he has made here at Warner Bros. and elsewhere.”
