Clayface North American Box Office

The R-rated film had a strong opening at the North American box office, with $10.5 million in total. Moreover, it held up well over the weekend. However, on its first Monday, the film saw a nearly 60% drop. Despite this decline, it remained at the top of the box office rankings in the region. Subsequently, on its first Tuesday, the film saw collections increase by $3.3 million, thanks to the Tuesday discounts at theatres.

Clayface took full advantage of Discount Tuesday at the US box office. In fact, with a strong $3.4 million on Day 5, it surpassed the first discounted Tuesday collections of several films. These included Kraven the Hunter ($1.3 million), The Exorcist: Believer ($2.3 million), Other Mommy ($2.9 million), Smile ($3 million), Birds of Prey ($3.4 million), and Black Phone 2 ($3.1 million).

Clayface Beats Lee Cronin’s The Mummy In North America

Clayface’s domestic total after five days stands at $29.6 million. Overseas, the film earned $21.1 million, bringing its worldwide total to a whopping $50.7 million. Earlier, the film was expected to cross the $50 million mark in its opening weekend. Even though the film is behind the expected milestone, it is slowly climbing the charts.

The DCU film has now surpassed the domestic total of Lee Cronin’s The Mummy. It is a reimagining of The Mummy franchise, based on the Namseranian, an ancient Egyptian demon that possesses victims in an exorcism-themed plot. The Mummy had earned $29.1 million. Lee Cronin’s The Mummy was a box-office success despite mixed reviews.

For the record, Lee Cronin’s The Mummy collected $90.5 million at the worldwide box office, and the DCU horror film is expected to surpass that in its second weekend. The film has strong momentum and will hit the $100 million milestone in the coming weeks, potentially emerging as the highest-grossing DCU movie of the year.

What Is The Film About?
