Though rich in content and sensitive thinking, Jolly LLB has faced tough competition from a rather unusual and unexpected competitor – Chashme Baddoor. Reminding us of the good Ol’ Jodi No. 1 and Hero No 1 et al films, Chashme Baddoor took everyone by surprise by raking up 36 crores within a short bracket of 10 days.
This has resulted in notable changes in the Koimoi 2013 Top 10 Bollywood Movie Listings. So far Raja Bhaiyya’s critically lauded film Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns, rested at the number 10 position with net earnings of 19 crores. While Murder 3 garnered a total income of 20.86 crore rupees, Chashme Baddoor showed ample promise by equaling Jolly LLB’s collections after its 1st Week.

However, with Chashme Baddoor’s 2nd weekend slipping out smoothly, what with adding 6 crores more in its kitty, the total domestic box office collection of the film is now stable at 36 crores and has surpassed Jolly LLB. The David Dhawan directorial stands at 7th position, while Jolly LLB on 8th position.
Despite Chashme Baddoor’s stable escalation up the box office collections chart, it is dauntingly preceded by excellent films like Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola and Kai Po Che. Chashme Baddoor will have to earn another 6 crores to be able to match up to its immediate predecessor Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola. Despite the film’s stable growth, it would be a little difficult for the film reach its earnings to the 40 crore margin.
Moreover, this Friday’s release, Ek Thi Daayan, with its rare supernatural concept is expected to easily find a place in our Top 10 Bollywood Movie listings and manage to evict out Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns.
