Ranbir Kapoor has been on a serious upswing at the box office ever since Animal turned into a career-redefining blockbuster, and now, with Ramayana coming up next, he is set to climb even higher on Koimoi’s Star Power Index. All thanks to Animal’s blockbuster run of 500 crore+ net at the Indian box office, Ranbir currently stands in the 7th position. With Ramayana, he’s now all set to overtake Aamir Khan in the Koimoi Star Ranking, securing the 6th spot. Keep reading for a detailed report!

What is Koimoi Star Ranking?

For the unversed, in Koimoi’s Star Power Index, aka Star Ranking, actors are allotted points based on their films (Bollywood/Hindi) in the coveted box-office clubs (based on Indian collections only), such as the 100 crore club, 200 crore club, and more. For example, 100 points are awarded for a film in the 100-crore club, and so on. 50 points each are given for a film in the top 10 overseas grossers of Bollywood.

Ramayana set to help Ranbir Kapoor overtake Aamir Khan

Ranbir Kapoor witnessed a big surge in the Koimoi Star Ranking with Animal. With the film entering the 500 crore club in net collections, he gained 500 points. He added 50 more points to the kitty, with the biggie entering Bollywood’s top 10 overseas grossers. By securing 550 points, his tally has risen to 1450, and he currently stands in 7th position. He’s below Aamir Khan (1500 points).

Ranbir is currently lagging behind Aamir Khan by just 50 points. With Ramayana targeting a net collection of 100 crore+ on opening day itself, the actor will gain 100 points the moment the film enters the 100 crore club in India on day 1. This will take Ranbir’s tally to 1550 points, helping him surpass Aamir Khan and secure the 6th spot on the Koimoi Star Ranking.

Here’s the breakdown of Ranbir’s 1450 points:

  • 4 films in the 100 crore club (Barfi, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar) = 400 points
  • 1 film in the 200 crore club (Brahmastra) = 200 points
  • 1 film in the 300 crore club (Sanju) = 300 points
  • 1 film in the 500 crore club (Animal) = 500 points
  • 1 film in Bollywood’s top 10 grossers overseas (Animal) = 50 points
