This version features extra footage and an exclusive post-credits scene, giving a sneak peek at Avengers: Doomsday. Naturally, the anticipation for this special re-release was high, and it was reflected in big pre-sales numbers. Being extremely front-loaded, it took a flyer on the opening day.
How much did Avengers Endgame: Encore earn at the Indian box office on day 1?
With an impressive show count of 3,600+, Avengers Endgame: Encore earned 7.25 crore net at the Indian box office on day 1, which is an excellent number for a re-release. Given the pre-sales response, a 10 crore net opening looked within reach, but it ultimately fell short. As expected, collections were largely driven by advance bookings, while walk-ins remained limited.

Scores the 2nd-biggest re-release opening ever
With 7.25 crore, Avengers Endgame: Encore registered the second-biggest opening for a re-release in India. The record for the biggest opening remains with Baahubali – The Epic (10.8 crore), which was actually a remastered single-film version of Baahubali – The Beginning and Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion. For a Hollywood re-release, such a start is really impressive and just shows how strong the Indian market is.
Targets a big opening weekend
Encore had strong advance bookings of around 5.5 crore gross for day 2, which might help it register healthy growth today. For tomorrow, advances are around 4.5 crore, hinting at another strong day. Overall, the film is expected to score a massive 3-day opening weekend of 22-24 crore net at the Indian box office.
