Angrezi Medium Box Office: Irrfan Khan’s return to the big screens isn’t turning out to be good at the box office. Although the actor and others are receiving applauds for their performance, the film is facing a severe blow at ticket counters due to the outbreak of coronavirus.
The unfortunate thing is that during the opening weekend, Angrezi Medium has collected lower than its predecessor, Hindi Medium, which was released in 2017 and that too in a clash with Half Girlfriend. Till now, the film has made 10.03 crores* and it’s practically the lowest number of the year, as far as opening weekend is concerned. Although 10.03 crores are greater than that of Shikara’s 4.90 crores, the Vidhu Vinod Chopra directorial is hardly even a noticeable release of 2020.
Let’s take a look at the highest opening weekends of 2020:
Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior– 61.93 crores
Baaghi 3– 53.83 crores
Street Dancer 3D– 41.23 crores
Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan– 32.66 crores
Love Aaj Kal– 28.51 crores
Malang- 25.36 crores
Chhapaak- 19.02 crores
Bhoot: Part One – The Haunted Ship– 16.36 crores
Panga-14.91 crores
Thappad- 14.66 crores
Jawaani Jaaneman– 12.83 crores
Angrezi Medium– 10.03 crores*

Unfortunately, the film didn’t even find a spot in the top 10 opening weekend grossers of the year. It’s at the 12th position after Jawaani Jaaneman.
Speaking about the first part, Hindi Medium, the film went onto collect 69 crores after taking a slow start of 2.81 crores.
