1921 emerged as a mini favourite of all the 3 movies released last week. The genre working in its favour, it comparatively collected higher than Mukkabaaz and Kaalakandi.
It finished its week one by earning 11.58 crores. A thing which went to its favour was – no major releases in its 2nd week. Small films like Vodka Diaries, Nirdosh and My Birthday Song were released in an almost negligible amount of screens.
The somehow stable first week helped 1921 to retain some amount of screens and it went to add numbers at a lower scale. It collected 52 lakhs on its 2nd Monday and 41 lakhs on 2nd Tuesday taking the grand total to 14.13 crores. The real problem for this film will begin on Thursday when Padmaavat releases.

All previous week’s movies will have to let go a huge chunk of screens for Padmaavat. 1921 is the fourth part of this franchise and none of the parts except the first one has done well at the box office.
Zareen Khan surely has received few positive reviews for her performance in the film. On her experience of working with Vikram Bhatt, Zareen told IANS on phone from Mumbai: “It was great. I did not know him on a personal level before this movie. For me, he was a great director, and I have always been a fan of his work.”

He is an amazing human being, and an ocean full of knowledge.”
1921, shot in London, revolves around the lead characters, played by Zareen and actor Karan Kundra. They deal with their dark pasts and secrets to secure their present and future. It is about a struggle between life and death.
