Bollywood actress Neetu Chandra, who made her debut with Garam Masala starring Akshay Kumar and John Abraham, has revealed that she was the first choice for Aanand L Rai’s Tanu Weds Manu.
In a recent interview with SpotboyE, Neetu told them that the film was offered to her first. She said that Madhavan came up to her and told her that they have already worked in a film together (in 13 B) and they should do another film a little late.
When she was asked if she went to Aanand and opt out of the film post Madhavan’s message, she said, “No, I never went to Aanand L Rai and opted out. But, suddenly I learnt one day that somebody else was shooting in that role.” She was further also asked if the role that was offered to her was the lead role, she replied, “Of course.”
Well, now that’s quite a revelation!
Recently, Neetu added oomph to the music video of singer Payal Dev’s “Ishqa“, a number the actress describes as a “song for all generations”. Commenting on “Ishqa”, Neetu said: “Every song has its own story and own rhythm. In ‘Ishqa’ you will see me in a different avatar. It’s a song for all generations that you can sing/hum and dance to.”
