Shikara Trailer Review: Vidhu Vinod Chopra is back as a director with the upcoming film Shikara – The Untold Story of Kashmiri Pandits. The trailer of the film is finally out and it promises to tell the real story of Kashmiri Pandits’ pain in a compelling way.
With Shikara, Vidhu Vinod Chopra has tried to narrate the account of painful happenings that happened with Kashmiri Pandits and their families back in the ’90s while keeping the love story of a married couple in the forefront. Watching the trailer it seems, the story narration will be done from their perspective.
As the trailer starts, the very first scene sets the stage and grips you. The trailer has been beautifully cut as it creates the right perception from the very first scene. As it proceeds, it does the task of making you curious to know more about what happened in the “Heaven on Earth” back in that era. The most beautiful part of the trailer is that even though, it’s a story of a particular community’s pain, nowhere the narration feels like promoting hatred. Instead, it makes a big promise as it tells, “When hate is all that is left, Love is your only weapon”.
Sadia & Aadil Khan seem to have done lovely work as far as their performance is concerned. VVC as a director promises a heartfelt and moving story that will surely leave you thinking.
Overall, Shikara’s trailer will make you curious about the film and that’s its victory.
