On June 29, Akshay Kumar announced that Laxmmi Bomb will release director on Disney Plus Hotstar. If the reports are to go by, the trailer of the film will be releasing on August 18.
As per a report in Bollywood Hungama, a source close to the development said, “It is common knowledge by now that Akshay Kumar’s lucky number is 9. He tries his best to ensure that his films and its trailer releases on dates that add up to 9. Continuing this tradition, Akshay along with the producers of Laxmmi Bomb has decided to unveil the trailer on August 18.”

Talking about the release date, the source stressed on the fact that Akshay Kumar religiously follows his lucky number 9. Due to the same, Laxmmi Bomb may release on September 9, which is also the actor’s birthday. “Also, Laxmmi Bomb will release on September 9. This date is significant for one more reason as it’s also Akshay Kumar’s birthday. Laxmmi Bomb is a special film and this is the best gift he’ll be giving to his fans on his special day!,” The source added.
Said to be the remake of Munni 2: Kanchana, Laxmmi Bomb also stars Kiara Advani and Sharad Kelkar. The film is being helmed by Raghava Lawrence, who also has the original to his credit.
