Even after recovering from coronavirus, troubles don’t seem to be ending for Kanika Kapoor. The singer has been charged under Section 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) and Section 270 (malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) of the IPC. This comes a day after Kanika addressed the controversies about her having tested corona positive last month.
The Lucknow Police pasted a notice at Kanika’s house in which they have asked her to record her statement. Deepak Kumar Singh, ACP, Krishna Nagar said that Kanika will have to come to the police station and record her statement in writing. Further action regarding her case will be taken after that.
Kanika took to Instagram and shared her first statement since she has recovered. She explained everything from her return from the UK, arrival in Mumbai, and then the infamous Lucknow visit.
She clarified that she did not quarantine herself because there were no advisories then. She appeared in gatherings as there were no symptoms and she was not aware that she had been infected. Kanika added that she was not quiet till now because she was ‘wrong’, but to allow the various versions of the ‘truth’ to prevail. Kanika thanked her family, well-wishers and doctors for taking care of her in the ‘emotionally testing time’.
The Baby Doll singer even stressed the point that all the people she had come in contact with within the UK, Mumbai and Lucknow are healthy and they haven’t been tested positive for coronavirus.
