Janta Curfew: As a preventive measure against the widespread Coronavirus Pandemic, Prime Minister Narendra Modi last evening announced that March 22 will be a Janta Curfew. While masses are getting educated about the move, Bollywood celebs including Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Twinkle Khanna have welcomed it with open arms. Below is what they have to say.

If you have joined late, in an address to the nation last evening, PM Modi raised the issue of the Coronavirus Pandemic. As a measure he announced a Janta Curfew according to which on March 22, Sunday, citizens will have to stay indoors from morning 7 to 9 in the night. The curfew will be a measure to cut down socialising.

Not just this, but PM Modi also requested people to come to their windows by evening 5’o clock and raise applause for the people who are effortlessly working to defeat the Coronavirus pandemic. Bollywood has now opened up on the same and welcomed the decision regardless of the inclination to the government.

Amitabh Bachchan on his twitter wall wrote, “T 3476 – मैं #JanataCurfew का समर्थन करता हूँ ,२२ मार्च , ७ से ९ बजे रात तक ,, मैं उन सबको हृदय से धन्यवाद देता हूँ , उनका अभिनंदन करता हूँ , उनकी सराहना करता हूँ , जो , देश वासियों के लिए जितने भी आवश्यक काम हैं उन्हें इन गम्भीर परोस्थितियों में भी , कार्यरत है संलग्न हैं.”

Akshay Kumar who has been supporting the PM wrote, “An excellent initiative by PM @narendramodi ji…this Sunday, March 22 from 7 am to 9 pm let’s all join in the #JantaCurfew and show the world we are together in this. #SocialDistancing”

Anurag Kashyap though not have written anything but, has retweeted some tweet that criticised the point of PM Modi the requested people to come in their balconies. One tweet even accused him of copying the idea from Italy.

Ajay Devgn wrote,” Fellow Indians, Namaskar A short while ago, Our PM Saab, Modiji, requested all of us to show resolve & restraint in the face of COVID-19. Please also adhere to the Janta Curfew on 22nd March by staying home. Stay Safe.”
