Janhvi Kapoor who made her Bollywood debut with Dhadak and is now gearing up for her next titled Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl has been associated with the star kid tag since she entered the industry. The actress has now opened up about being associated with it and how it motivates her to prove her worth.
Nepotism is a long going debate that has been spoken about time and again in Bollywood. The recent one to address it is Janhvi Kapoor who herself has been tagged with. For the unversed, Janhvi is the daughter of producer Boney Kapoor and Bollywood superstar, Late Sridevi.
In an interview with the magazine Grazia, Janhvi said, “I can’t let it bog me down because I know there are people out there who would kill for this opportunity. I understand their feeling of being cheated a little bit. And it won’t go away until I prove myself worthy.”
Janhvi in her short run has proved her calibre and has backed some interesting roles. When asked about playing the lead in films, the actress said, “My mom was never considered a conventional heroine. We wouldn’t call War a male-centric movie just because it has two male actors. We need to normalise female protagonists so that it isn’t a big deal anymore.”
Gunjan Saxena is the biopic of the Indian Airforce combat pilot who played a pivotal part in the Kargil Girl. The film is set to hit the big screens on April 24, 2020, and is directed by Sharan Sharma.
