Ever since Arjun Reddy, the ‘Vijay Deverakonda’ mania has even spread even across the Bollywood cine-goers. For a long time now, fans have been waiting for the actor to announce a project marking his entry into B’Town. His pictures at Dharma Productions’ office too fueled the rumours further, but the good news is that it’s all come out now! The actor has signed a film with SOTY 2 actress Ananya Panday.
Yes, you heard that right! The project said to be tentatively titled Fighter, will be helmed by Puri Jagannadh, the director of Tamil film Pokiri, that went onto be remade as Salman Khan’s Wanted in Hindi. While other details regarding the project still remain under wraps, the venture will be backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Production, and Puri Connects.
Ananya Panday too took to her Twitter account and welcomed her co-actor with a heartwarming message. “Welcoming Mr. Deverakonda @TheDeverakonda to Bollywood #AnanyaPandayVijayDeverakonda”

In another tweet, the actress shared pictures from the script reading session, alongside Vijay Devarkonda. The duo was sitting near a window all smiles as they held scripts in their hands. While Vijay donned a red coloured sleeveless Tee with grey boxers and a cap, Ananya, on the other hand, wore a black dress.
“Happy, blessed and excited to be associated for a Pan-India film with our director @purijagannadh Producers @karanjohar @Charmmeofficial @apoorvamehta18 @DharmaMovies @PuriConnects #PCfilm ,” shared Ananya in another tweet along with the pictures.
Initially, there were reports that Dharma head honcho Karan Johar, who has turned Vijay’s close friend was playing an instrumental role in finding Vijay a lead actress, for Fighter. In fact, he was the one who suggested names like Alia Bhatt, Sara Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor and so on, but looks like Ananya Panday won the battle!
Meanwhile, Vijay is said to have begun the shoot for his solo portions for Fighter and has returned from Bangkok where he was under rigorous prep for the same.
