Aamir Khan who is busy with the shooting of his Laal Singh Chaddha, was also in the headlines later last year for his web series based on the epic Mahabharat. While there have been many speculations around the film, the latest is a sad one. If reports are to be believed, Aamir Khan might have shelved the project and below is all you need to know.
According to the report in Bollywood Hungama, the actor has just put the project on hold and would not give up on it as it is his ambitious project. A source close to the development said, “Aamir is a dreamer. But he’s a pragmatic dreamer. He won’t just get into a situation without a full understanding and appraisal. Once in, he won’t withdraw,” says the source, adding that the project is only dormant for a while.
The source added, “The scale on which Aamir plans to make the Mahabharat makes it a very expensive project. And Aamir wants to cast only A-listers.” There have been many names that were rumoured to be approached. While there was news that the actor was keen on playing Krishna, Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan were also approached to play pivotal parts.
It is been said that the actor took the decision to put it on hold looking at the current climate in the country.
The source says that the superstar is waiting for a perfect time to make the web series. He wanted to do it in 2019-2020 but as things didn’t work out, he decided to sign films and now is focusing on them. Once he is done with his films Laal Singh Chaddha and Moghul, he will redirect his attention towards Mahabharat.
Meanwhile, Aamir next Laal Singh Chaddha is set for a Christmas 2020 release and has already become an anticipated film.
