Salman Khan starrer Dabangg 3 has dominated all the mainstream headlines since the makers started revealing numerous posters, trailers and songs. The film caught the spotlight today when the news that Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s song from the film was dropped and it was replaced by someone else’s voice. Though there was no update on who replaced the maestro, it is now that we know it is none other than Javed Ali.
The makers this noon released the song Naina Lade which was initially sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. If reports are to be believed the music maestro had recorded the song much before and everything went just right. It was later that the Indo-Pak conflict and the industries unofficial decision of not working with Pakistani artists led to the shuffle. The song was thus dropped and re-recorded.
It turns out that the songs has now sung by Javed who is also known for his melodious voice. It is a romantic name and an addition to the Naina streak that the franchise is known for.
Talking about dropping Rahat’s voice, a source close to Bollywood Hungama revealed, “Dabangg films’ songs have been hits and the Dabangg 3 album is no exception. One of the reasons why the ‘Naina’ songs of part 1 and 2 worked so well is because of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s melodious voice. Hence, Salman Khan got him on board for the romantic track of Dabangg 3 as well. The recording went well and everyone was happy with the outcome, including music director duo Sajid-Wajid. However, the tensions then increased between India and Pakistan. An unofficial decision was taken that the industry should stop working with singers from across the border. Since Rahat Saab is a Pakistani, Salman and the entire team decided to drop his voice and replace it with that of another singer.”
Dabangg 3 starring Sonakshi Sinha, Kichcha Sudeep and Saiee Manjarekar alongside Salman is directed by Prabhudheva and is up for a release on December 20 this year.
