Ever since the debacle of Anand L Rai’s ZERO, and her wedding with the Indian Cricket Team Captain, Virat Kohli; Anushka Sharma has been missing from the silver screen. While fans have been eagerly waiting for the actress to announce her next venture, there were also reports about Anushka giving up on her acting career altogether!
While the NH-10 actress had remained right lipped about her absence from the films until now, she has finally spilled the beans. Anushka Sharma has confirmed that her absence was a self-imposed sabbatical. Further explaining her choices, Anushka said that she had burned out and was functioning on an auto pilot mode.
Speaking to Grazia, Anushka said, “I was on autopilot, and it got exhausting. I needed to try other things, things that didn’t fit into the schedule that I had found myself getting accustomed to for such a long time. I needed to challenge myself in a different way to figure out, I don’t know, a purpose, and live a little outside of the movie sets and promotional tours, and dresses and heels, and have authentic exchanges with people. I also prioritized slowing down and working on building a life for myself.”
Meanwhile on the professional front reports have been doing rounds that Anushka has given her nod for a biopic on the former captain of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team, Jhulan Goswami. Well, it certainly will be interesting to see Anushka don the jersey after hubby Virat Kohli.
The rumor mill has also been buzzing that Anushka has already registered two titles with the Indian Motion Pictures Producers’ Association (IMPPA), ‘Chakdaha Express’ and ‘Chakda Express’.
