While Aamir Khan is currently working on his upcoming action drama Thugs Of Hindostan, some reports suggest that he has also started the groundwork for his most ambitious project till date, a Mahabharata franchise for the big screen.
The superstar earlier stated to a leading magazine, “My dream project is to make the Mahabharata but I’m afraid of starting the project as I know it will consume at least 15-20 years of my life.” Determined to make it on a grand scale like Lord of The Rings and Game Of Thrones, Aamir would need a massive budget for his dream project, and it looks like he might finally get it.
According to reports from Mid-Day, business tycoon Mukesh Ambani has shown interest in co-producing the film, and may provide a 1000 crore budget for the extravagant project. Although, it has not been confirmed yet if the billionaire businessman will be investing through one of his existing media companies like Jio and Viacom 18, or if he will start a new production house for the movie. There is still a long way to go before the project takes off and numerous details to work out, but if it does happen it will definitely be the biggest film in India.
