Fans are happy to see their favourite character and television shows thanks to the permission granted by Maharashtra state government. As Mumbai is the home to many shows, most of the daily soaps and sitcoms have resumed the shoot post COVID- 19 break. But particularly speaking of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, fans expressed their sadness as government guidelines restricted beloved Ghanshyam Nayak aka Natu Kaka’s appearance in the show.
As instructed by the government, the actors with 65 years of age and above were not allowed on the sets. Speaking about the same, Taarak Mehta producer Asit Kumarr Modi had earlier said that he and the people from fraternity will request the government, to allow senior actors to shoot. And, now finally, the permission has been granted, all thanks to Bombay High Court’s intervention.
Not just the makers, but even actors like Kanwaljit Singh, Surekha Sikri and others voiced their opinion against the guideline. They put forth the plight of their livelihood. Considering all such opinions, the representative body made a request to the Bombay High Court. And fortunately, the state government’s guideline has been quashed by the court.
A bench of Justices SJ Kathawalla and RI Chagla stated the decision. This surely is a moment of happiness for Taarak Mehta fans.
Speaking on the same, actor Kanwaljit Singh quoted, “I’m already getting my make-up kit ready.” While the detailed judgement and press release is awaited, it will be interesting to see how Taarak Mehta’s Ghanshyam Nayak aka Natu Kaka and other senior actors react.
