Black Mirror is one of the most popular British dystopian science fiction anthology television series. The series of 5 seasons so far, talks about how science and technology and our increasing dependency on it carries the potential of changing our society for worse.
Black Mirror is also very popular on Netflix and the audience has been looking forward to the 6th season with bated breath. The Bandersnatch episode of the previous season was a huge hit and it took the popularity of the series on the next level.
However, the creator of the show Charlie Brooker says he is not planning season 6 at this moment because the world is already going through too much. Charlie in a recent conversation with Radio Times said that people don’t have stomach for stories about societies falling apart right now. “I’ve been busy doing things. I don’t know what I can say about what I’m doing and not doing. At the moment, I don’t know what stomach there would be for stories about societies falling apart, so I’m not working away on any on of those (‘Black Mirror’ episodes).” he said.
However, he added that he wants to try his comic-skills right now. “I’m sort of keen to revisit my comic skill set, so I’ve been writing scripts aimed at making myself laugh,” he added.
Well, we kinda agree with Charlie here. No matter how much we love Black Mirror, it would be great if the world can get more shows which make them laugh during this time of crisis. What say?
