South-heartthrob Prabhas led Baahubali: The Beginning and its sequel Baahubali 2: The Conclusion were two major milestones for the Indian film industry. Both films were highly appreciated by cinemagoers worldwide following which it had a great run at the global box office. While most are aware of the fact that the iconic role of Sivagami was initially offered to late actress Sridevi before it went to Ramya Krishnan. But not many know that the initial choice of the makers for character Kattappa was not Sathyaraj, instead, it was Sanjay Dutt.
Yes, you read it right! The Makers of Baahubali were keen to rope in Sanjay Dutt to play Kattappa, but later on, it fell in the lap of Sathyaraj. As per a report from Times Of India, Baahubali director SS Rajamouli’s father K.V. Vijayendra Prasad who has penned the script of both the films has revealed that Sanjay Dutt was the original choice.
But as Sanjay Dutt was serving his Jail term at that the time, Baahubali team had no other options but to look for another actor, which they later found in the form of Sathyaraj, who with his versatility and natural performance won hearts of cine-goers.
It was only last week when fans and cine-goers celebrated the 5th anniversary of Baahubali: The Beginning with #5YearsOfBaahubali on social media. Apart from Prabhas, Sathyaraj, and Ramya Krishnan, the magnum opus also had Tamannaah Bhatia, Anushka Shetty, Nassar, and Rana Daggubati in key roles.
