Zayn Malik enjoys a very loyal fan base. His fans never fail to show their support for him on social media. Recently his fans have flocked to social media demanding Spotify to remove a song that brands Zayn ‘a terrorist’.
Zayn’s fans have shown their support for their favourite singer using the hashtag #RemoveItForZayn on social media that aimed to remove a track by Uma Kompton which is titled ‘Zayn Did 9/11’. Kompton is already known as an online troll who has now taken her trolling to a musical level.
The song is not a recent release, but it had been released a few years ago but it’s only now when Zayn Malik’s fans have noticed it and are slamming it for being Islamophobic. The hashtag #RemoveItForZayn trended on Twitter and Spotify and as a result, it got noticed and the song got removed from the streaming platform.
A Spotify spokesperson revealed to MailOnline: ‘Spotify prohibits content on the platform which expressly and principally promotes, advocates, or incites hatred or violence against a group or individual based on characteristics, including, race, religion, gender identity, sex, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, veteran status, or disability.’
Zayn Malik and his girlfriend Gigi Hadid are currently very happy as the couple is expecting their first child. They are certainly one of the best couples we know. Fans have always showered their love for the couple and stood up for them every time. It’s only because of the love of their fans that Spotify had to remove the song after the rage against it trended on social media. What is your opinion? Do let us know.
