Xavier Ortiz, a former member of the popular musical group Garibaldi, passed away on September 7. The singer was 48 when he committed suicide. Ortiz’s former partner, Sergio Mayer Breton, shared the sad news on Twitter.

Ortiz has worked as an actor in both TV and film, he last appeared screen as Romero on the TV series The Noir Bizarre. The actor was also part of series like ‘Un gancho al corazo’, ‘Duel of Passions’, ‘Camila and Sentimientos ajenos’. Xavier featured in the 2007 film ‘Lovesickness’ and ‘Che: Part One’ (2008).

Xavier Ortiz’s sister, Olga Ortiz Ramirez, shared the news that her brother died by suicide. Talking about his personal life, Xavier Ortiz was first married to fellow Patricia Manterola. He and the Garibaldi member dated for ten years before tying the knot in April 1999. The couple divorced in 2005 but remained close. He then married Carisa de Leon, but the couple filed for divorce in 2018.
