Thor: Love and Thunder is indeed one of the most-anticipated releases in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The excitement among the fans is more because this Chris Hemsworth starrer will be helmed by Taika Waititi, who also directed Thor: Ragnarok which received rave reviews from fans and critics.
Thor 4 will be set post the events of Avengers: Endgame. In the previous MCU films, our God of Thunder lost everything that meant a lot to his – his mother Frigga, father Odinson, brother Loki and best friend, Heimdall. But guess what? The makers are planning to bring one of these dead characters back in Thor: Love and Thunder and it’s not Loki.
As reported by WeGotThisCovered, the fourth Thor film will witness the return of Heimdall, who guarded the Bifrost in Asgard. Played by Idris Elba, Heimdall has been a key character in all Thor films so far. He is Thor’s best friend and watching him being killed by Thanos (Josh Brolin) in Avengers: Infinity War was too painful for Chris Hemsworth’s character.
If there’s any truth to the news, we can’t wait to see the God of Thunder finally being happy to see someone he loves the most. In Thor: Love and Thunder, actress Natalie Portman will reprise her character, Jane Foster. She is all set to play the female Thor in this Taika Waititi directorial.
Fans are also hoping that somehow, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki is a part of the film too. The audience can’t imagine Thor without Loki so it would be interesting to see if the makers give their requests a thought or not. Just like Heimdall, even Loki was killed by Thanos in Infinity War in front of Thor.
Meanwhile, the release date of this Chris starrer has been preponed. The film will hit the screens on February 11, 2022.
