Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown was just 13 when she tasted success. The beauty portrays the role of Eleven and has garnered massive appreciation for it. But fame didn’t come that easy for beauty. Just at the age of 8, she decided she wanted to be an actress. The most surprising part is the fact that she cannot hear from a ear.
Yes, you read that right. The actress opened up all about in an old interview. She began with her childhood struggles. How it may seem easy to people that she struck the chord with just one show – Stranger Things, but she had struggled for a year before finally getting her breakthrough performance.
Talking about it in a conversation with Variety, Millie said, “It didn’t happen all of a sudden as it might seem. The series was really a stroke of luck, which arrived after two years of tireless work: commercials, auditions on auditions.”
In fact, while Millie Bobby Brown made her decision to be an actress even before her teenage, her parents happily obliged. So, the entire family relocated to Los Angeles. “I know this sounds crazy, but once I find something I want to do, nobody’s stopping me. If I don’t know how to sew, and I really had that passion to sew, that’s it, I’m going to sew. That’s also with acting. So here I am.”
However, the heart-breaking part came when she opened up about her hearing loss. Millie Bobby Brown had a partial loss of hearing in one ear. The Godzilla actress struggled with tubes for years and eventually, she lost hearing ability. Many state that is also one reason why she communicates so well with her expressions as far as Eleven in Stranger Things is concerned.
“You can talk with your face. It’s very easy for someone to say, ‘I’m mad. I’m sad. I’m angry.’ I have to just do it with my face,” Millie Bobby Brown concluded.
