Recently Mariah Carey opened up about her upcoming memoir, ‘The Meaning of Mariah Carey’ and said that it would also include her fling with former baseball player Derek Jeter. What’s interesting to note is that Mariah had this fling while she was married to Sony Music president Tommy Mottola (1993-1998).
Carey teamed up with writer Michaela Angela Davis for her memoir. In July, she announced that she was finished with the project. ‘The Meaning of Mariah Carey’ is set to release on September 29.
Mariah Carey confirmed that the fling took place towards the end of her marriage. She even told Vulture that two songs from her 1997 album ‘Butterfly’ were about the former baseball player. The two songs, ‘The Roof’ and ‘My All’. In her memoir, the singer revealed that she met Derek Jeter at a dinner party, and she started secretly ‘text-flirting’.
