Avengers: Doomsday has to be the greatest ensemble ever brought to the screen. Not only because it has several superheroes, and certainly not because it brings superheroes from different universes together. But because even though several characters from the MCU Universe existed all along, they have not faced each other yet.
With that, it has been at least a year since the time Fantastic Four were introduced and they were getting powers even before a year. And yet they have had no contact with Dr. Doom on screen. Yes, they might have a history together, but the five characters have not been seen together in a scene at a time.
Moreover, if you are thinking that the post-credits scene with Invisible Woman and Franklin included Dr. Doom, think again. The mask that the green clothed character had was not of Doom but of one of his witches.
Here are the characters who will come face to face for the very first time on screen, even though they existed in the MCU for many years.

1. Loki Meet Shang-Chi, Red Guardian, & Winter Soldier
Loki spread chaos in 2012’s The Avengers. While he has faced Captain America, two Super Soldiers were yet to step into the ever-expanding universe. Sebastian Stan’s Winter Soldier and David Harbour’s Red Guardian have not crossed paths with Loki.
Well, neither has Shang-Chi seen or heard of Loki. Till now, the only on-screen presence that Shang-Chi had in the MCU was in his own movie. Meaning he is far away from what is going on in the other countries in the MCU.
2. Loki & Scarlet Witch
The San Diego Comic-Con had mannequins of several of Doom’s witches. Theories suggest that one of these witches will be Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch. We last saw her getting crushed under heavy rock and debris of her own temple, and she was introduced after Loki was defeated by the Avengers.
While she may have heard of him, as she has been working with the Avengers closely, Olen’s character has certainly not faced him. Loki, the god of mischief, and Scarlet Witch, the absolute power player, might face each other in Doomsday if the rumors are true.
3. Captain Carter Meets Loki & other Avengers
Captain or Agent Carter, played by Hayley Atwell, was enjoyed in Captain America: The First Avenger, as well as in her own series. Most importantly, she was praised for her bravery in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. However, toward the end of Avengers: Endgame Encore, it was the very first time that she got to meet Loki.
One should also note that this was the first time that Steve Rogers saw Thor’s brother after the events in 2012. Moreover, Atwell was present during the SDCC events, confirming her return to the MCU and in Doomsday, which is where she will meet other Avengers.
4. Shang-Chi Meets Everyone
Since the time he has made a glorified entrance Shang Chi has not met most of the major characters. It was only Bruce Banner, Captain Marvel, and Wong in the post-credit scene of his titular film. On December 18, 2026, Simu Liu’s character will meet other MCU characters for the very first time.
5. Fantastic Four & Avengers
Fantastic Four come from a different universe altogether. They have not met any other superhero yet. While the crossover is highly anticipated, it will be exciting to witness this event on the big screen.
Moreover, in case you don’t know, Namor and Sue Storm get into a romantic affair in the comics, which makes the introduction of Fantastic Four to the Earth-616 characters even more exciting.
6. X-Men To Avengers & Fantastic Four
The X-Men again is a team that belongs to a whole other universe and not Earth-616. The movie Avengers: Doomsday will not only introduce these characters to each other but also will put them in a fight with one another. This might just be our short Avengers Vs X-Men saga.
7. Shuri & Namor Meet Thor
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was the first time when Shuri and Namor came face to face. Even though the Talokans have existed for years. Well, two mighty kings will meet a god in Doomsday. Thor, the god of thunder, will fight alongside Namor and Shuri. While it is certain that Shuri and Thor have fought in Endgame, they have not formally introduced themselves to each other on screen.
8. X-Men Alongside Gambit
The X-Men are now canon to the MCU. Moreover, the X-Men we have seen on screen throughout their days in Fox’s movies are not the same ones involved in Avengers: Doomsday. These ones have costumes close to their comic book appearances.
On the other hand, Gambit was introduced in Wolverine and Deadpool. Also, he was taken away from his universe, meaning the X-Men in the trailer are not his mutants. He will get along with them for the first time ever on screen.
9. Wolverine & Deadpool Meet X-Men
We all know that Deadpool’s universe is the one from Fox. It is the same one in which we enjoyed our black-suited X-Men. Meanwhile, the Wolverine in the film is again from another universe, as the one we cherished in Wade’s universe, the anchor being, died in Logan. For those who do not know, the two characters were announced during the D23 event to be included in Doomsday.
Dr. Doom is a great threat, not lurking in the shadows but attacking in broad daylight. He will not stop and will continue to be a threat throughout two films, Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. The character will be played by Robert Downey Jr., bringing pure chaos.
