Hollywood star Angelina Jolie‘s next film The One and Only Ivan is all set to be released on streaming platform Disney Plus. The actress is now seen promoting her film, for which she is on board as a producer and voices the ageing elephant Stella in the Thea Sharrock directorial.
The One and Only Ivan is an adaptation of the Newbery Medal-winning book written by Katherine Applegate. The film focuses on the treatment meted out to animals by humans. It revolves around the central character, a silverback gorilla named Ivan (voiced by Sam Rockwell), who lives in a cage in a shopping mall along with an elephant named Stella (Jolie) and a stray dog called Bob (Danny DeVito).
Angelina Jolie, who is on a promotional spree for the animated movie, revealed about her quarantine period with her six kids.
The 45-year-old actress also gushed while talking about her son Maddox, who will be studying online and hasn’t returned to South Korea due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Angelina Jolie said to Dong-a Ilbo Daily, a long-running media outlet in South Korea, “I could not be happier about Mad’s choice of university. It is, of course, closed at the moment because of the pandemic. But he’s not transferring school. He’ll be back as soon as things settle.”
While talking to Entertainment Weekly, she said, “He’s using the time to focus on his Korean and Russian studies. We are all so happy, as a family, that we will have the opportunity to get to know South Korea even better through Maddox, and with him, during his studies.”
Concluding the interview with the publication, the actress said, “When you have that many children, they really take care of each other. They help me. I’m not alone managing everything. They are an amazing team. So I’m very very fortunate.”
Angelina Jolie also praised writer Mike White for developing the movie. Talking to Digital Spy, she said, “Disney, Mike and everybody involved really (understood) it has its heart. It”s not a light film, it deals with heavy issues, but it is charming, fun and full of life. But it’s deceptive in the packaging.”
