Jake said, “I remember auditioning for The Lord of the Rings and going in and not being told that I needed a British accent. I really do remember Peter Jackson saying to me, ‘You know that you have to do this in a British accent?’”

He also recalled how Lord Of The Rings director Peter Jackson literally called him the worst actor he had ever seen. “He literally turned to me and said, ‘You are the worst actor that I have ever seen.’ He said, ‘Did anyone tell you you were supposed to have an accent?’ I was like, ‘No!’ And he said, ‘Well, fire your agents,’” said Jake Gyllenhaal.

Well, that was a roller coaster of an audition. Imagine how Jake could have looked if he played Frodo. Nevertheless, Elijah Woods did the job perfectly!
