The wait is finally going to be over as we’re just a day away from the grand arrival of Toxic. Yes, the much-awaited magnum opus, headlined by Yash, Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Rukmini Vasanth, Tara Sutaria, and Huma Qureshi, is releasing tomorrow (August 26). The excitement is at its peak as the Rocking Star returns to the big screens after KGF Chapter 2, and it is poised to explode at the Indian box office on day 1, with collections likely to exceed 80 crore net. Keep reading for a detailed prediction report!

Riding on Yash’s face value

Promotional assets consistently grabbed the headlines

The assets, including teasers, songs, and the trailer, did their job by keeping Toxic in the headlines and raising awareness of its release. The film has been marketed as an unapologetic, bold action thriller, which has worked in its favor. Also, the overall scale looks huge, and the stylish treatment has made it a must-watch big-screen affair.

Secures a solid show count and blockbuster ticket pricing

Toxic is witnessing one of the biggest releases ever for a pan-India film, with around 19,000 shows already scheduled for the opening day. The final show count is expected to be slightly higher than this. Along with an impressive show count, blockbuster ticket pricing will also help the film big time. Reports state that it has secured the highest-ever ticket prices for a Kannada film, which is believable.

Rocking pre-sales in Kannada and Hindi

As expected, the magnum opus has gone full throttle in the Kannada market, given the star power of Yash. In the Hindi belt, it has surprisingly exceeded expectations in pre-sales. Despite being a standalone film with no sequel benefit, it is faring extremely well solely on the actor’s face value. These two versions alone, Kannada and Hindi, are doing all the batting. Combining both, opening-day pre-sales have gone past 30 crore (excluding blocked seats) at the Indian box office.

Day 1 prediction of Toxic at the Indian box office

Going by the advance booking trends and the buzz on the ground, Toxic is targeting 82-89 crore net (all languages) at the Indian box office on day 1, which is simply outstanding for a non-sequel film. This prediction is in line with the benefits of the Eid-e-Milad and Onam holidays, which would boost over-the-counter ticket sales.

Out of 82-89 crore net, the main Kannada version is expected to contribute 29-30 crore. The Hindi version is likely to contribute the surprising 32-37 crore. In Telugu, it is expected to net 11-12 crore despite Irumudi’s strong run. Malayalam and Tamil versions are expected to contribute 10 crore.

Locks the 4th biggest A-rated opening for an Indian film

With an expected start of 82-89 crore net, Toxic targets the 4th biggest A-rated opening for an Indian film, surpassing Coolie (65 crore). There’s also a chance of securing the 3rd spot by beating They Call Him OG (84.7 crore) if the film performs at the higher end of predictions.

Take a look at the top 10 A-rated Indian openings in India (net):
