Raid Box Office: It is turning out to be a good season at the Box Office as films are doing fair to good business one week after another. If Hate Story IV had a fair opening weekend, Raid has now done a lot better. This was expected too given the kind of credentials that the film boasts of. Ajay Devgn has traditionally enjoyed steady market for himself and now just a few months after Golmaal Again, he is keeping a good score with this one as well.
This can be pretty much seen from the fact that the first three day collections of the Raj Kumar Gupta directed film stand at 41.01 crores. This is pretty much over and above the expectations since before the release it had seemed that a 35 crore opening weekend would be a right start for a realistic drama like Raid. However, with the numbers turning out to be better, there is further solid footing that the film has gained.
Meanwhile, for director Raj Kumar Gupta too the success of this film has proven to be a shot in the arm. Lifetime collections of his most appreciated film No One Killed Jessica was 29 crore whereas Ghanchakkar which released after that had brought in 34 crore.
Now these numbers have been surpassed by Raid in less than a weekend which is a reason for the filmmaker to celebrate. Of course stakes were much higher for the film since it is an Ajay Devgn starrer and hence at least double of the weekend is expected as a lifetime score. That shouldn’t be a matter of concern though as Raid is well marching towards that total.
