Law & Order Box Office (Closing Collection): Despite Mammootty’s Cameo, Film Gets Washed Out In Just A Week

Famed director Ranjith returned with the film Law & Order with Prakash Varma in the lead. The film started on a disastrous note at the box office and went further downhill from there. Even Mammootty bringing back his popular character to the screen after decades did not work at the box office. However, the film has been washed out of the box office in just a week.

How Much Did Law & Order Earn At The Box Office In 2 Days?

The Malayalam cop drama had a dismal opening of just 29 lakh net in India. In its opening weekend, the film collected 65 lakh. However, the film crashed in its opening week, forcing it out of the theatres. The film wrapped the week with a total of 92 lakh. On Days 8 and 9, the film collected 1 lakh each, bringing the net total to 94 lakh, which equals 1.11 crore gross in India.

Box Office Verdict Of Law & Order

The budget of the film has not been disclosed. However, the film has proven to be a disaster in all quarters. Moreover, the film even failed to sustain for over a week at the box office and has been completely washed out. As a result, the film is a flop by Koimoi’s parameters.

More About Law & Order

The Malayalam film marks the return of director Ranjith, who has multiple National Awards to his credit. Over the years, he has directed films like Ravanaprabhu, Nandanam, Chandrolsavam, Pranchiyettan and the Saint, India Rupee, and more. However, the director made a comeback after his sexual harassment case. Earlier this year, he was also taken into judicial custody by Thodupuzha Police in connection with an attempted sexual assault case.

Mammootty makes a special appearance in the film. He plays Karikkamuri Shanmughan. It was a character he popularised through his performance in the 2004 Malayalam film Black. The film was written and directed by Ranjith, who also made Law & Order. However, Mammootty’s return as a beloved character did not excite the audience.
