Nikhil Advani’s rom-com Katti Batti starring Imran Khan & Kangana Ranaut, which released last Friday, was in the news for its heavy promotion & the much hyped ‘long lip lock’. However, at the end, it is always the Content which proves to be the only King. Somehow, the film wasn’t really appreciated by the audience and it ultimately got affected with its weekend collections.
The weekend collection of ‘Katti Batti‘ is 16.27 Crores, which is lower than ‘Hero’ that released 10 days ago. Hero collected 21.20 crores in its opening weekend, despite having new faces. Katti Batti didn’t witness any big jump on Saturday & Sunday which resulted a below average business overall.
Here’s what the Distributors said about the weekend collections of ‘Katti Batti‘ –
Ajay Pal from Bangalore – The business of ‘Katti Batti‘ is below expectations. Since the word of mouth is not so positive, Saturday & Sunday’s growth was not huge.
Brijesh Tandon from Delhi-UP Circuit – The word of mouth is negligible & the review is below average and hence the business of ‘Katti Batti‘ is below expectations.
Sanjay Ghai from Delhi – The film’s opening was very low & didn’t show any growth on the weekend. It has got reviews, which are not so impressive and that’s the main reason for this low business.
A Distributor from Mumbai – The film’s weekend is low & might suffer from regular dips in the weekdays, as the word of mouth is poor.
