Gori Tere Pyaar Mein remained low at the box office as compared to the other films running alongside. While Singh Saab The Great was wonderful in many circuits like UP, Delhi- NCR, CI, Berar and Rajasthan, Gori Tere Pyaar Mein thjat was targeted mainly at the multiplexes suffered a beating from last week’ film Ramleela that is impressing all and sundry. As per early estimates, the film on its 1st Saturday earned in the range of 3.25 crores. Though the figures are still being compiled, the film has far made an income of 6.50 crores at the domestic box office.
The dull response is alarming because the film belongs to a genre that is relatable to a large chunk of young India. There is little chance that the film will show any pick up on Sunday thus stagnating its first weekend amount in the lower range. Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan have been amply praised for their work but the film will find it difficult to soar at the box office with such an underwhelming beginning.
