Fox Star Studios, the distributors of R-rated superhero film, Deadpool 2 have gone all out as far as the release size of the film is concerned as the film is set to be showcased on approximately 2100 screens in India.
The film starring Ryan Reynold in lead is carrying a substantial buzz in India and is expected to embark onto a good start at the Box-Office. The distributors have booked the theatres even at mass centres for the Hindi dubbed version of the film and are expecting the dubbed version to also contribute substantially.
After Avengers: Infinity War, the trade is expecting even Deadpool 2 to do respectable biz in India and easily go past the Rs 50 crore mark in its lifetime run. Given the response to the advance booking of the film and the start in morning shows, it is expected to take an opening of Rs 8.50 crore. As far as the show count of Deadpool 2 is concerned, the film is releasing in 2D, 4DX and IMAX 2D across India with 7050 shows.
The release size of Deadpool 2 is similar to Avengers: Infinity War that released Avengers Infinity War that released in approximately 2500 screens in India. However, the collections of Deadpool 2 will fall short of Avengers primarily because the former is an R Rated comedy that does not appeal to the family audience. That apart, the show count of Avengers was a lot higher than Deadpool 2 despite similar screen count. The first installment of Deadpool opened at Rs 4.10 crore in India, and the second installment of the film is sure to take an 100% leap in terms of opening day numbers. As far as the opening weekend is concerned, the film will target a weekend of Rs 30 crore.
