Dune 3 is making huge waves at the box office with its pre-sales. Its release date might have been pushed further in China because of Avengers: Doomsday, but its pre-sales are on fire at the BFI IMAX, the United Kingdom’s largest screen. The upcoming Denis Villeneuve movie has surpassed The Odyssey’s BFI IMAX first-day advance pre-sales rankings. Keep scrolling for the deets.

The top 5 includes some of the biggest Hollywood blockbusters, including another Dune installment. The gap between the third film and the rest of the list underlines the scale of the film’s early demand. The film is still around two months away from hitting screens, and clashing with the MCU tentpole is only increasing the hype.

The Zendaya-starrer sci-fi movie has claimed the top spot on BFI IMAX’s all-time first day advance presales chart. Its £880k first-day pre-sales haul comfortably surpasses Christopher Nolan‘s The Odyssey, which generated £750k during its first 24 hours of advance sales. The difference is £130,000, underscoring the extraordinary demand for Villeneuve’s latest installment. The film has also left its predecessor, Dune: Part Two, far behind. The 2024 release recorded £366k in first-day presales at the same venue, less than half the amount collected by the upcoming sequel.
