Reason being that there aren’t many films that bring in 30 crores even in their first week, especially when it comes to scaling, size, and budget of this kind. However, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety has managed that with style and as a result the overall numbers stand at 75.71 crores.
From here, the journey towards the 90 crore mark would be a cakewalk and once that happens the real test will begin. Last time when a light-hearted film had stopped just short of the 100 crore mark, it was Welcome Back which had collected 97 crores in its lifetime run. One just hopes that Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety meets with a better fate and somehow manages to enter the 100 Crore Club. Though it is going to be quite difficult, the love that the film has received warrants that it finds itself in the elite company.
One now waits to see what does the cast of the film pick up next. Kartik Aryan has found maximum appreciation coming his way and one just hopes that filmmakers make a note of this and offer him some meaty roles soon enough. Nushrat Bharucha has been a regular with director Luv Ranjan and it would be interesting to see how other filmmakers fit her into their stories.
On the other hand, Sunny Singh has managed a good footing for himself and it won’t be a bad idea for him to do some more multi-starrers in time to come so that there is good recollection built amongst the audience.
