Four films release this Friday – I, Alone, Sharafat Gayi Tele Lene and Crazy Cukkad Family. While I is a Tamil romantic action drama dubbed in Hindi, Alone is a horror erotica, Crazy Cukkad Family is a family comedy and Sharafat Gayi Tele Lene is a comic thriller. In terms of genre, each of the four films is different.

Still, the fact remains that it is a crowded Friday, and hence audience would have a choice to pick and choose. This means, at maximum a couple of films can be expected to find some audience and that too for just a week as two major films arrive next Friday – Baby and Dolly Ki Doli.

Amongst the four films, Alone is set to take a better opening at around 30%-40% range. While horror has its audience, Bipasha’s presence should ensure that single screens should be content too with ample skin show on display. Moreover, director Bhushan Patel has a good track record with this genre (Ragini MMS-2, 1920-Evil Returns). The film’s storyline is quite impressive (based on the Thai original) and if the treatment is indeed good (which is expected, considering Bhushan’s hold over the medium), Alone should stay stable at the box office right through the week.

I is expected to be a good film, considering director Shankar (Robot) at the helm of affairs. However, neither Vikram nor Amy Jackson are known much on pan-India level and hence only very good reviews and word of mouth can do the trick. In terms of scale, setting and grandeur, it is the biggest start that 2015 has got.

Sharafat Gayi Tel Lene is a much delayed film and is releasing without much of publicity. On the other hand Crazy Cukkad Family is a rare comedy from Prakash Jha (as a producer). Both would see restricted release in theaters.
