Mastizaade had decent collections in its first week. Though there are wide discrepancies in collections reported by the makers and estimated by the trade, hence resulting in controversial numbers, the figures as reported by the former are quite decent. With around 28.74 crore coming in, the film has managed numbers that are better than what one expected when all-around terrible reviews hit the film on its release.

The collections are still slightly lower than what Kya Kool Hain Hum 3 [29.65 crore] earned in its first week but then the fate could have been slightly better had it released earlier. Nonetheless, the numbers are still lesser than what one expected from it to begin with and since there is a biggie [Ghayal Once Again] that has released this week (along with a romantic musical Sanam Teri Kasam), the shows have considerably reduced.

The film has still done better than Sunny Leone’s Ek Paheli Leela [26+ crore], though it won’t be able to match Jism 2 [33.5 crore].

Box Office - Mastizaade does decent, Saala Khadoos stays low

Saala Khadoos stayed low right through the week and the jump that one expected over the weekdays was clearly missing. Though weekend did show some escalation, need of the hour was for the film to maintain at least 2 crore on each of the days. This didn’t turn out to be the case, despite the fact that there wasn’t much competition in theaters and good count of screens and shows were available.

With around 9 crore coming in the first week, the Madhavan starrer has a task in hand to gather more numbers in the current week.

  1. It’s great to hear that Mastizaade and KKHH3 have stayed on in spite of the heavy and bad reviews from the media and some individuals. Indian public is full of hypocrisy. They watch Hollywood sex comedies at homes and discredit their own. Surprisingly more are even the Indians abroad who should be more open to films that are light-hearted and fun. What a shame.
